![]() ![]() If you still have problems then something is amiss, please take it along to your local dealer for them to diagnose the issue. Verdict: If it’s musical fluency and ease of speed change you are after this Pro-Ject will have a lot of appeal, especially considering the range of finishes and ease of cable upgrade. ![]() Cons: Not as powerful as the best in class. If it's not I'd encourage anyone to take a look at the photo's back up this thread to ensure they have a setup that looks roughly like this. Pros: Effortless, detailed and engaging sound with good looks. Even a novice can tell that that’s a little weird, but peculiarities aside, the Debut Carbon is still relatively easy to get up and running. The height of the tonearm is fixed, it can only be lifted with a shim which is sold separately. The cartrige is a pre-mounted Ortofon m2 model (standard in Europe). One of the first things I noticed that the carbon tonearm is not paralell with the record surfaces. It should work without hassle if setup correctly. Pro-Ject’s anti-skate set-up is a bit more finicky, as it requires you to tie what’s basically a fishing line from the back of the tonearm to a small counterweight that hangs off the back. Yes, as we all know there are some better designs out there, these involve complex damping, added springs / mechanisms, baths of oil and fluid fans etc. Il giradischi Project Debut Carbon non ha rivali nella stessa fascia di prezzo. Coming from an engineering background myself, I agree it may not be the prettiest, but it does it manage to keep prices down and the amount of things that can go wrong to a minimum. As mentioned before though back in the mists of time, it's a proven simple design that works on hundreds of thousands of turntables that Pro-Ject have sold around the world. Having followed Pro-Ject’s Debut line for many years, there’s a real sense of it reaching adulthood with the new Debut Carbon Evo. Even with its recent price rise to £500, this is still a seriously capable turntable for the money. The Debut Carbon Evo demonstrated this eloquently when we looked at it. We feedback all comments to the factory, and actively welcome it. Their role in Pro-Ject’s line up has changed from the starting point of turntable ownership to the point of something that has genuinely audiophile leanings.
